I love to watch TLC's Extreme Couponing and wish in the worst way that I could go to the grocery store and buy $200 worth of food and necessities for $30-$50 so I've started to collect coupons for things that we use...deodorant, paper towels, toilet paper, tooth paste, feminine products, shampoo/conditioner, lotion, and cleaning products. I have started to watch the weekly flyer for the HEB, which comes out on Wednesday and will usually do my shopping after looking through that and planning the next weeks meals. So here is my main haul home from the store.
HCF Paper Towels - 3 Pk - $1.86
2 Smart Balance Milks - $3.56 (Had a $3 off coupon I used towards this...Would have paid $6.56)
1 Loaf of HCF bread - $0.88
5 Bags of pasta - $5.00
3 Sweet Potatoes - $2.50
5lbs of Bananas - $2.24 ($0.44 a lb this week)
2 Ice sticks freezer pops - $1.00 (pack of 10 each)
14 lbs of chicken drumsticks - $13.99 ($1.00 per lb this week)
1 30oz box of goldfish crackers - $3.98 (had a $3 off coupon I used towards this...Would have paid $6.98)
Grand Total = $35.01
That show annoys me beyond words. I am glad to see you say "...for things that we use." Not to shabby there!!! ...We farm too!
ReplyDeleteFollowing you back.
I can't believe some of the stuff they buy. We don't do soda here anymore and candy is a treat not a staple. So, yes, very much looking to cut costs on things we do use and that are technically considered necessities, but I will not have enough toilet paper to last us 40 years, just a couple of months (especially now that we are done potty training our oldest).
